Social Recruitment Covenant

JSL Services Ltd Signs the Social Recruitment Covenant

JSL Services Ltd is proud to announce that we have signed the Social Recruitment Covenant, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive employment, social mobility and breaking down barriers to work across the UK.

This national initiative brings together hundreds of organisations that are committed to supporting individuals who face barriers to employment. By becoming a signatory, JSL Services Ltd has strengthened its dedication to responsible recruitment, inclusive workforce development and positive social impact.

What Is the Social Recruitment Covenant?

The Social Recruitment Covenant was created by PeoplePlus and is championed by the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group. It encourages employers to take clear, practical steps to support individuals who may be furthest from the labour market.

  • The Covenant promotes best practice in:
  • Inclusive recruitment strategies
  • Removing barriers to employment
  • Supporting long-term workforce participation
  • Encouraging social mobility and economic inclusion

It aligns with our existing commitments to the Mental Health Charter and the Armed Forces Covenant, strengthening our wider ESG and social value strategy.

Breaking Down Barriers to Employment

At JSL Services Ltd, we recognise that many talented individuals face complex personal circumstances that can limit access to employment opportunities.

These may include:

  • Disability or long-term health conditions
  • Mental ill health
  • Neurodivergence
  • Parenting or caring responsibilities
  • Prison experience
  • Other socio-economic challenges

We believe these circumstances should never define potential.

By signing the Covenant, we commit to asking the right questions, proactively engaging with underrepresented groups, and creating meaningful pathways into sustainable employment.

National Launch at Westminster

The Social Recruitment Covenant officially launched at Westminster on 6 November 2024, bringing together parliamentarians, business leaders, and key stakeholders committed to advancing inclusive employment.

Representatives included the Department for Work and Pensions and the Minister for Employment, Alison McGovern, who highlighted the importance of workplace support in building skills, confidence, and long-term opportunity.

Our Commitment to Inclusive Growth

Deborah Lindsay, Managing Director of JSL Services Ltd, said:

  • Expanding access to employment opportunities
